Yancton Beaded Cloth and Hide Pipebag, c. third quarter 19th century, the red trade cloth top beaded with curvilinear designs done in black, yellow, and white seed beads on one side, and black, yellow, white, translucent green, and red on the reverse, with polychrome quilled rawhide slats and hide fringe with a row of tin cone janglers from the bottom, (some cloth loss), lg. 41 in.

Probably Assiniboine or Hidatsa, consisting of a cloth shirt, the raggedy garment with enormously long sleeves ending in tattered fringe, topped by a cloth hood with pendant apron across the chest, the hood with floppy nose made of cloth tassels, the ears hung with more tassels, circles painted about the cut-out eyes, the entire outfit painted with red or black stripes as are a pair of cloth covers either for the hands or feet; along with another simpler though similar mask.
